Dunsfold Park New Town Planning Appeal Inquiry starts 10am Tuesday 10 March 2009. It is important that members of the public attend, especially on the first day.

A Planning Inspector will conduct a public inquiry into Waverley Borough Council’s refusal of planning permission, running for four weeks (excluding Mondays) starting on Tuesday, 10 March at  Waverley Council Chambers,  The Burys, Godalming.

Working with Waverley Borough Council, the opposition group Stop Dunsfold Park New Town, in conjunction with CPRE Surrey (the Campaign to Protect Rural England), will be giving evidence at the inquiry on behalf of those in the local community who oppose this appeal. However it is important that a large number of local residents also attend the hearing to demonstrate to the Inspector the strength of local feeling and concerns.

The most important day for you at attend is the opening day – 10 March. You will have an opportunity to hear the barristers for SDPNT, CPRE, Waverley and Dunsfold Park presenting their opening statements, which contain the arguments for and against the scheme. Also it is on the opening day that the Inspector will take down the names of those who want to register their right to speak during the session set aside for local residents.

Please make a note in your diary.

Mr Philip Jones (Hascombe)
I would be in favour of a much smaller modern eco-friendly development that was environmentally self-sufficient and shrouded by new tree planting. Like a small hamlet in a newly planted wood. This would be in keeping with the local surrounding area and its history."
